Shooting classic cars is about as far from what I prefer to do photographically as possible, but I'm trying to work on seeing things more creatively. My MIL shows her antique Fiats and so we've been going to a lot of car shows lately and these are a few I personally liked from the last one.

For those who have more experience with shooting classic cars/car shows, what can I do differently? My biggest pet peeve is how close the cars are to each other at most car shows, making it difficult to get a wide shot that isn't way way too busy. They also inconveniently have these things right in the middle of the day when the sun is high overhead and harsh. What's the best way to deal with the lighting in this situation?

Thanks in advance!

1,4,5, i think are very good,2 and 3 i want to see just a little more of the front.

Pretty good shots. I like the angles and the colors in the 2nd and 3rd shots.

most dont really do anything for me but i love #5, that car is hot!

#5 was definitely my favorite shot out of the bunch too. Thanks for the feedback! I know the composition on 2 and 3 are super tight, I was trying to avoid shooting any of the cars next to each one because they were parked so close together. I had a really hard time finding a composition that showed off the car without looking like every other car show shot, you know?

#5 makes me want a Chevelle though lol

#5 is awesome.

And I agree about cars - been going to shows for the last 30 years with my dad and they are no where near as fun as they used to be...

yep the chevelle is hot. the rest are ok. even though the grill slats are straight up and down, the angle of the shot makes them look off kilter.
