Catch that!! Dog action portrait

I saw some photos like this on the internet and decided to try it out at home. Turned out to be kinda hard, especially getting the timing right and getting a very excited dog to sit and wait for the cheese to come flying at her.

Shoot through umbrella, right above my head. 24mm, f7.1, 1/320, iso800

I get that they are part of the action and authenticity of the shot, but the strings of spit kind of ick me out. It's the only niggle I have with this. Otherwise, I find it quite really awesome

I agree with Limr about the spit being kind of gross. Here's just a very quick touch job but it gives a precursory look at how it could look if the touch up was done for real. Nice pic and a lot of fun for you both I bet. It was also very cute if you remove the cheese from the shot too.
