C&C please, composition, exposure, etc.

#1 is my favorite. I'm not generally a fan of really tight closeups, but the complexion on her face has a good character to it.

#2 looks like a point and shoot snapshot. Doesn't do much for me.

#3 would look better, but it's too bright (over exposed a bit) for my tastes, and the slanted horizon distracts away from the bird.

I like the first and third one. I love puffins, but I think you missed focus there. Where in Alaska are you from? I'm guessing near the coast somewhere. SE Alaska perhaps? I live in Sitka right now. Not too many of us Alaskans on this forum.

The first one is too underexposed for my taste. I know you are trying to create a mood, but there is just too much detail lost in the shadows.
