Christina + Late Night Tennis {C+C}

Hi all,

This is my friend Christina. We met in college with the mutual love for tennis. This girl is awesome and I asked her to be a test subject on the tennis court for me while I practice my light setups. She is a tough nugget on the court, so hence the mean mug. Any C+C on the lighting and composition is appreciated. My first critique is the FINGERS. How do I manage to cut off limbs so well and so often... So please let me know!

Hmmm... I really like the lighting, and while the expression doesn't immediately say 'tennis' to me, I think it makes for a great image. The cropped fingers bother me, as does the lack of space image left. The net makes a great leading line, BUT, she's jammed against the LH side of the frame. Re-shoot opening up a bit to the left and you'll have a winner!

I agree with the above comments. Perhaps a little more bokeh. Is this a one light set up off camera left?

Yes, light was camera left.

Not liking how the net cast a shadow on her arm there.

Try the mean mug look with more of an action pose then a seated pose.
