I decided to clean my sensor today for the first time and I thought someone here may find this info useful. I was thinking about having it done, but it seems no one will do it locally. They simply send it off for 75 bucks and it take aprox. 3 weeks. So I picked up a bottle of Eclipse and a box of sensor swabs (research led me to these products by Photographic Solutions). Penn camera robbed me at $45 for the 12 swabs and $10 for the solution. On the site below is info on which solution and swabs you need for your camera.

It was very easy to do with a little preparation. I mounted the camera on my tripod and strapped the tripod to my desk (to keep it from moving). Followed the direction on the manufacturers website and made one swipe left to right, flipped the swab and made a swipe right to left. Done

I used this site for reference:

and the manufactures site:

Don't be fooled by dirt on your lens. I see a lot of folks quickly say you have dirt on your sensor, but dirt on the inside glass (mount end) shows up and looks just like sensor dirt..so clean this as well as blow the sensor with a blower before you begin. I was surprised this isn't mentioned anywhere in my research.
Here is a peice of dirt on my lens, not my sensor, after I cleaned:
