Clock works

I was playing around in my shop tonight and took this photo of the working parts of an old clock. My light source was a hurricane lantern placed about a foot from the clock to achieve the shadow effect.

Should I have used less overhead lighting and more flame? Help!

Well, I seem to be the first to answer, so I must reply with all my only very limited knowledge (if you can even call it that) on lighting only. But I like what I see, the effect of the storm lamp is cool, even a bit bright in that bottom part of the frame - and since it is so bright there I believe you did well in keeping as much overhead light on. I think much of the clockwork parts in the upper frame might otherwise have gone lost in darkness.
Did you handhold your camera? At what shutter speed? The photo looks just this tad blurred.
