Cold as Ice

Sorry no Foreigner here.

But I do have this picture I took of some cracked ice. I don't know why, but I really like it. Lately I've been looking into textures and it's been kind of fun making compositions out of textures and trying to fill the frame with them.

Nikon D610 + 70-200 f/4 VR
78mm, 1/200th, f/8, ISO 450

I am a big fan of texture in a photo. This one has potential, but I think it needs somethign to give it some oomph. If it were mine, I think I would crop it to focus on that big triangle on the right, and then play with the contrast to deepen the blue a bit and highlight the white of the cracks.

Well you told me to push it even further! So I did.

I think I'm on the right track. I didn't crop though.

The cropping seems less necessary now that the shapes of the cracks are emphasized more after the contrast bump. Nice

I like it even better now. Not sure why I didn't push it further the first time. Thanks for pointing that out.

Now this is really mind blowing, the detail that is contained in a raw file is just incredible.
