All shots taken as part of this week's OU T189 assignment...

1. I think this is the best shot. The best angle of the bunch.
2. 2nd best IMO, though I don't find it all that interesting
3. The angle is strange to me and the background is distracting
4. Uninteresting angle
5. you cut off the bottom part of the hole in the acoustic guitar, im also not sure what the focus point is supposed to be
6. distracting background

Is there a way to make the blacks a bit deeper around the edge of number one? Or maybe my LCD is just poorly calibrated (wouldn't shock me to be honest). I like the first and second the best by a fair margin. Good shots.

Thanks for the comments. I'd agree that some of the shots are stronger than others compositionally - 4 & 5 being the weakest in my view. The black background in #1 and #2 is a piece of foamboard, which while being the right colour, does tend to have a bit of a sheen to it that doesn't absorb all the light hitting it. Looking at #1, I think a pure black background would have lost the edge of the guitar in the process.

I'll be getting hold of a piece of black velvet in the next few weeks, but until then...

I love guitar pics! The only one I realy don't like is the 2nd one, but maybe if you crop it a little tighter.

Nice job!
