Colonnade

This colonnade, completed in 1925, is one of many designed to protect holidaymakers from the sun and rain. They stretch along about half a mile of the north shore at Blackpool, Lancashire. I felt my composition needed a figure at a focal point, and my wife, wrapped against the weather, obliged!

Wow, great photo. My only issue is the red jacket, it's a bit distracting for me.
 
Thanks for the comment adoho. The idea of the figure is that it's the subject towards which the eye is directed by the line of the columns and the curve of the shadows. I tried having the figure at the precise intersection of these elements but it was too distant to be a significant part of the composition.
