Color/B&W

This is a random shot of a flower I took in Italy, after being cropped and edited. I'm not sure which version I like better, or if either of them are any good, so please let me know what you think. Anyway, here they are.

You made the first, the colour version, quite soft, which I like, and the colours are very pleasing. With the (added?) softness, very much detail gets lost in the black and white conversion, which is why I say I clearly prefer the colour version to the black and white one.

In addition to that I've had grey up to here *puts flat hand under nose* ... our days are so awfully grey right now ... I so want the colours in nature back at last :D.

i agree.

forgive my crude PS masking :) i believe it's important to show as much detail in your subject as possible, unless you're going for something completely different. PS is a great tool for restoring some lost definition. this is a quick edit and it's a little dark...but i think you get the jest of what im saying.
