I wanted to post to my blog some pictures that I shot in Death Valley.
I edited them some in PS, and saved them as jpegs, 8 bits. The colors were nice, somewhat reddish. After I hosted them (photobucket, fotki, etc) the files lost the red hint completely, and now the images look dull, like that one. All the effect of the low sun just disappeared.

When I open the saved image in PS, it looks fine. When I try to host it again, it looses the color. It never happened to me before.
Please, help - what is the problem?

I learnt this from a fellow TPFer - try when saving a file for web (not on your original file), go edit --> convert to profile --> Working RGB *some gibberish*

See if that works :)

Hm curious. I am certain another individual will ahve more knowledge on this subject, but my understanding is that the web can only display so many colours (or that use to be the case) - but I have certainly seen much brighter colours before :S. Unfortunately I can't be much help.
