Color scheme opinion please

I am the graphics editor for my yearbook at school and our theme is road trip. Please try to avoid giving critique on the design I really just need to get an opinion on the color scheme.

Do you think these colors work well for a road trip theme and with the design?

(THIS IS A DOUBLE SPREAD SO THE RIGHT SIDE IS THE FRONT AND THE LEFT SIDE IS THE BACK COVER)

The color scheme doesn't seem to have anything to do with a road trip. Though the use of the circles that look a lot like tires does. I don't like that shade of blue all that much.

I think it looks just fine. I'm not sure if a road trip could possibly have a color scheme related to it.

I would use colors from road signs
