.com or .org?

I'm currently operating my website under mynamephotography.com but have recently purchased myname.org (myname.com wasn't available). What do you think about switching to myname.org since it's shorter? Would using .org come across as less professional?

Well, specifically, it comes across as non-commercial / non-profit. Is that what you intend?

What kind of photography business do you have? Retail, Commercial. or Editorial?

I would recommend .net over .org for the same reasons lambertpix mentions that .org is perceived as non-commercial.

There is no location info in your profile, and using a country code may be preferable to either .net or .org for a retail photography business.

I'm .ca for my web site, but also hold .com for my name. When I was looking to register my business name .com was already being used. I have since changed my business to use my own name, but most of my pictures and links go to my web site.

Yup this.
You want to make it as easy as humanly possible to find your website, and allll the other .blahs don't have it right now. If anything, buy as many as the .blahs as you can and forward them to your .com.
