computer question for the geeks

Spent two days backing up files and installing stuff (it gave me big problems). Woke up the next day to find the hdd was dead. Oh fun... So, a week later the new hdd arrives.

It's actually a 250gb hdd but I installed win2kpro sp4 which only supports 130gb. I can't be arsed to fix it now. I have upgraded to sp4, just don't have the cd for it.

Actually, xp sp1 won't recognise this hdd (it's a SATA) and it would also record as 130gb. sp2 would be fine.

It's amazing how quickly stuff changes. I remember getting a 1gb hdd in '96. :O
