contrast

I am having problems with too much contrast in my pictures. I am not sure why they are printing with so much contrast. Do I need to change my contrast setting on my camera.

Any help with this would be fantastic. What can I do in photoshop to reduce it. I have ps 7

The normal contrast setting on the D70 is pretty contrasty. I prefer shooting with a custom curve which I recommend for everyone using the D70 or D100.
