i have an old pentax k1000 that im putting on ebay. it works great but has some cometic flaws like scratches and chipping of coloring. just wondering if there is any way to make these look better.

was thinking about using a black marker but that seems like its doing it the wrong way.

I wouldn't use a marker...

I would just give it a real good cleaning, maybe even polish the metal parts, and put some kind of conditioner on the leather/plastic/rubber parts.

It'll look so good after that, nobody will care about a few scratches... ;)
You might even change your mind about selling it.

use Hopper"s gun cleaning on the metal

i know what you are going through. I was selling my old camera and the whole handle thing was scratched off but the camera itself works amazingly. I would suggest just cleaning it really well. Maybe the color that chipped off just chip off all of it, or polish it...good luck :-)

thanks keith, haven't used it in years and had a brain cramp

As i remember, just plain old oil smelling
