Couple of Owls

Was at the zoo and some of the keepers were out walking around with some of the animals. Here are a few shots I took.

Really liking these!
first one really stands out with that great background and spot on sharpness!
Though it looks like whilst the barn owl rather liked posing the other owl got rather bord of you and your camera

Yeah, I liked the bored/sleepy expression from him. I was a bit disappointed with the barn owl shots due to the fact that the shade made for some rather lackluster lighting.

to me the lighting on them looks good - and the shade means you didn't have highlight problems from all the whites on the bird. He is closer to his background though, so it shows up more, which might be more what your feeling.
Also there is a slight (now I look closer) reddy look to the bird but that might just be the bird itself and me looking too close

I thought the second owl picture looked like he could have been saying in a kind of snoody voice "How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll tootsie pop."
