I think something to work on would be the lighting and the composition. The background is a bit cluttered imo. You captured the mood of the dog well I thought though.

I would agree with the lighting needs some to give the pooch some color.

i was going for a "Drowzy" soft focus effect, but maybe a little bit too much..
