Well, hopefully the corrosion on the door was the problem and it won't come back.
In my opinion Eneloop batteries are the way to go. I've been using them the past year or so and have had excellent results with them. I don't use my flashes as regularly as many guys do so they tend to sit in my camera bag for long periods, and I could never remember to take the batteries out. I haven't had any dead batteries since I started using Eneloops.
