D300 focusing problems

I have recently noticed that my D300 is having problems focusing in low light as the autofocus lamp does not come on. I am using the Nikon 18-200 mm VR lens . In the settings I have the lamp set to come on. Need some help. Plumber

Maybe the lamp is burnt out and needs to be replaced?

It could be an electronic control circuit fault.

Contact Nikon service, or a local Nikon autorized service repair shop.
