D300 vs D2x

I've been recently thinking about upgrading to a D300, however a quick search through ebay is showing used D2x bodies priced as low as $1500 with fairly low shutter actuations. I've seen a lot of reviews sided both ways and was wondering which would be a better camera overall.

D300 > D2x in terms of specs, results and technology, IMHO.

The D300 has less noise, the same resolution, and live view. The D2X has better build quality but it's value in 12 to 18 months will be half what it is now. I speak from experience here. I watched the D1X drop to 10% of new price in 18 months. My last one was $500.00 in new condition with the buffer upgrade.

Exactly. Better pictures out of the D300 but better build quality from the D2x.
