before you eve suggestion saying to turn the lens to the smallest aperture (f22) and lock it, i have already done this multiple times with no remedy.

Also, I have wiggled it, turned it on and off, took out the battery, checked firmware and all that.

so im wondering if theres something in the menu that has changed or what?

any help would be greatly appreciated! :BangHead:

Thanks!

Is the lens proven operable? Have you got another 'D' lens to try on that body to see if the problem persists. Are you sure that the locking switch is fully in the locked position? I have one lens on which the switch is very difficult to move.

The switch on the lens is purely mechanical. It really doesn't have to be used. It only prevents the aperture ring from being inadvertently moved off the minimum aperture, which will result in the fEE error.

I've actually tried the same lens on my d810 and d800e while only working on the d800e. I'm also having the same problem with my 18-35d lens.

I havent found a solution though. :/

Dirty contacts twixt the lens & body?

I've used an eraser to try and clean it, but still no resolution. :(
