Dad Or Grandad?

I have a photo that was taken in either 1865 or 1891.

There is a chance that it might be my cousin and then it would have been taken in 1928.

It is printed on a cardboard like material.

I was hoping that one of you experts might be able to date it.

Shoes and clothing make me think it's 1891, and not 1865, and not 1928.

I agree, and the processing seems rather more refined than I would expect if it were 1865 as well, and by 1928, very few studios were printing on heavy card stock any more.
