Dahlias

I recently purchased a Pentax 50-200mm lens to go with my K100D. I was out in my backyard trying out the new lens. Here are pictures of some my dahlias in bloom. I'd appreciate any comments. Thanks.

Congratulations to your new lens.
The dahlias in your back garden are some wonderful, very colourful flowers, and to capture them, your new lens gives you just the nice DOF that is needed to bring out flowers well.
I think I like the first best, it has all the flower within the frame, which does not apply to the second and forth ... and in the third something is funny about the focus, the bottom part of the flower is out of focus, or is it even more than just the bottom part? :scratch: Somehow I now think only the tips of the upper petals really are in focus.

Oh well. Nice first pics with the new lens.

Thanks for your comments. I will be more careful with cropping my photos in the future. Next time I won't cut off the tips of the flowers.
