Hey all,

It's been a while since I've posted some of my own work here. Getting an insurance and financial services agency off the ground ate up most of my 2013.

Anyways, I got to lead a little small group master class this past weekend, and the topic of the evening was nighttime long exposure photography, particularly cityscapes.

I don't shoot landscape or cityscape professionally, but I'm very happy with how this one turned out. Enjoy!

P.S. In case you're wondering, yes I did cheat. That's not the original sky from the image.

Nice work!

I was going to say that sky is completely different than what I'm used to seeing here in Dallas. So do you teach photography?

Thanks!

You're right that the sky portion of the image is also heavily modified, but it was originally a different image posted on Flickr under a Creative Commons license (Flickr site: http://www.flickr.com/photos/wherezjeff/). Unfortunately, there's no way to get a sky like that in this part of the country.

As for the classes, I do them on occasion. If there's a person or group who are particularly interested in either building a strong base level of photography competency, I can definitely provide hands-on instruction there. Earlier in life, I was a college professor, and I come from a family of teachers, so it comes naturally to join my love of photography and teaching.
