Death Valley and desert anyone?

Hi guys,

Im going to be taking a side trip from vegas to death valley next week. i only have 2days/1night to explore the valley and im stayin at the ranch in furnace creek. im looking for advise on photo locations in and around death valley besides the obvious. i think the mesquite dunes at sunrise and perhaps the badwater salt flat for sunset??

Also any recommendations for gear i shouldn't leave without for shooting in the canyons and desert?

If it were me, I would want a very wide angle lens for when I'm right in the scene. I'd also want a longer tele lens, for when I spot distant formations or stuff. And sure, something in-between would probably be with me as well.....given that I owned all of those lenses, of course.

Don't forget your batteries or your memory cards. And I wouldn't go without a tripod either!
