Denver/NYC photography adventure

okay so i have family in new york city and friends in denver that i am going to visit over the summer. ive only been to nyc a couple times and have never been to denver. are there any places i should make sure i go in the 2 cities? i am in both places for around a week so i will have time to go pretty much everywhere. ill mainly just be in downtown denver but ill be all over nyc. thanks in advance.

Oh, and can i take my camera bag as a carry-on or do i have to put it with the rest of my luggage?

Are you talking about photo-related destinations or just the tourist traps in general?

I used to visit Denver regularly when my grandparents lived there, but it's been over 10 years since I was there. I've visited many places there and in Colorado in general.

U.S. Mint
Breckenridge Ski Resort
Steamboat Springs
Colorado State Capitol Building (one of the steps is exactly one mile high, it's marked)
Denver Zoo
Colorado Springs
Pikes Peak

That's about all I can remember off the top of my head. I'm sure there are plenty of others.
