digital cameras that double as web cams?

Hey

I'm just curious to know if anyone can use their digital cameras for video conferencing.

I was gonna drop $100 on a half-decent web cam, but thought maybe I could get a cheap dig-camera for an extra $150. I figure a cheap dig-cam might do a better job and I could use it for messin' around too. I wouldn't use it for any serious photography, but just when I want something small and fun to bring with me.

So is anyone able to use there dig as a web cam?
