Digital Infra Red Photography

I'm brand new to this site and uncertain if I'm posting in the right place. I couldn't find where to post in the Welcomes and Introductions section. Anyway, I've done B&W infra red in my home lab, but now it's onto digital. I don't want to modify my camera. Is there a way to produce infra red without modifications? I have a Hoya R82 filter that seems to be the least expensive filter that works. I'm using the Panasonic Lumix DMC fz100.
