Dpr gives d610 thumbs up

I have the feeling that many voices out there value the D610 package more than the D800 package, for hobbyist photographers, and even also for image quality end results.
Very interesting...

The IQ is pretty great--It's pretty darn good entry-to-FX-camera. The D800 is double the price and offers mostly features someone more "pro" would require.

although, the 51 point AF system would be great to track my cats with...

I'm waiting for the D610 sensor in a D800 body (top of the line AF and 1/8000 shutter primarily - no I don't need 1/8000, but I do need 1/5000).
I'd have bought the DF if it wasn't intentionally downgraded in these two specs, and had a higher pixel density.

24mp on a FX sensor is the sweet spot IMO. But for me, the other specs are equally important.

I would buy one now lol.

Indeed!! A dream!

But it would probrably kill the sells of both the D610 and the D800.

The rumors for this year (2014) is a D7200 and a D800S.
Let's wait and see...

This is why my wife doesn't let me control the money. If I had my say, I'd have a D610 in the mail right now headed to my doorstep. Awe photography. Seems the gear envy never stops.
