Draft prints from laser printer?

I am an aspiring wedding photographer currently using an Epson 950 printer which is great when I need top quality work printing, but it is expensive using Epson inks and compatables have been very variable and I have given up on them. I use genuine photographic paper for customers. I am thinking of getting another printer for general non-photo use but I am wondering if I can get maybe a colour laser printer that will give draft photos of reasonable viewing quality when viewed in a clear plastic wallet.

The other alternative is a budget inkjet. I have considered a Canon iP3000 which I understand is cheaper to run on Canon inks.

Does any body have any experience of colour laser printers?
