Thanks to both of you...

Unfortunately I went to New Zealand when they were having constant rain, and therefore I had no help from the sun in the lighting of this photo... And I didn't have a tripod with me... (We were on a walk (which was really more like a hike) up some hill)...

Any ideas on what I can do digitally to improve it?

I think it's great but you already know that Alecia...

I think the dark nature of the shot adds something to the overall feel of the piece, It looks almost like the storm that washed the wood up has just stopped.
