Dumb question about LCD display on Niknon D3100

I just purchased the Nikon D3100 and was poking around the interface and found the INFO display panel (which I did want).
Now I can't get back to the 'live' display...
Arrggghhh.
Can anyone tell me how to accomplish this (likely) simple task... The instructions are useless.

Press the shutter halfway and the info display will go away. You can also press the [Info] button a second time.

The complete D3100 users manual is a PDF file on the software disc that comes with the camera. (see page 6 regarding the Information Display)
