After i took three shots at the Dunlin he ran away to the Golden Plover and started to complain about some guy with a helmet (i was on the quad) on and a camera.

Thank you, i however did not do anything special to them to look desaturated, only thing i did in Lightroom was to add a small amount of contrast and a touch of clarity after cropping.
