Sorry didn't know where to put this. Ive got anxiety atm.

I think ive got dust on my sensor and possibly something else, when i look in the view finder theres 2 little black spots on the right hand side. Is it dust on the sensor, the mirror or the top part that the mirror projects into? Or is it something stuck on the inside of the view finder?

Ive wiped the mirror and that other bit with a cloth and when i look through the finder it's all still there.

Heres a spot, but im confused as it's not in the same spot as the 2 black bits in the view finder.

The 2 black bits are above and below this mark??

Get a rocket blower and puff that dust off your sensor! Pic #2 looks like something on the lens to me, but I've been known to be wrong (gasp!).

I used the blower it didn't dislodge it.

Pic 2 is that dust test hack to see if there's dust on the sensor, that was shot at f22 to make it more noticeable & taken with a different lens too.

Im not really worried about the dust spots on the sensor its the 2 black specs in the view finder that are puzzling me. If those 2 specs were on the sensor id have 3 spots showing up so it must just be some bit if contaminate inside the view finder???

It's a 40 minute drive to the nearest camera shop, I'll take the camera with me tomorrow when i go to buy the sensor cleaner kit and just let them have a quick look. Ive never cleaned a sensor before.

It's most likely your focusing screen. It's an easy fix with your blower.

I wiped the mirror and that screen and used the blower, it has to be on the other side of the screen in the view finder housing. The camera mob can look at it tomorrow, i need to figure out what it is so i know how to deal with it if it happens again.

Yes, you have to use your fingernail to pop out the focusing screen. Don't touch it with bare fingers, though! When you take it in have them show you how, it's pretty easy once you know. Also if it's actually scratched you can find replacement screens pretty easily. I've done it, so that means anybody can do it!

That first shot looks like something, a waterspot maybe, on the lens. When I find those in my images, I gently clean the lens, or in may cases the UV filter, because I abhor having to touch and risk scratching the lens. I get rid of those "smudges" in post using healing in LR.
