I scored an almost brand-new (less than 4,200 shutter clicks!) D3 from eBay for $450. The seller said it came from an estate sale. Whoever owned it originally hardly used it and it is easily the prettiest i.e. least scuffed camera in my current arsenal. WOO HOO!!

Always great to get a good deal. Well done!

I just got this one with it...

Yup, proof in the pudding as we say.

I think it's getting harder and harder to get good bargains regularly on eBay.

I think eBay is a bit like charity/thrift shops that you have professional traders scouring the places and hoovering up all or most of the decent stuff (not just camera equipment) and selling it on at a great profit.

If you keep a diligent eye on Ebay, you can find good deals. You certainly did!

I wasn't really looking for anything to buy, I was just seeing if the announcement of the D6 had any impact on D5 prices. F.Y.I. D5's are still hideously expensive..

Somehow, I stumbled upon the listing for the camera I bought, made an offer, and it was accepted.
