EBAY VS LOCAL?? HELP! Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 EX DC OS HSM Nikon

I prefer Sigma lenses over other lenses. I have never yet had to send one in for repair. As far as that goes, I never had to send in a Canon, Tokina or Tamron lens in either and I am not gentle with any of them.
