I have had mixed luck with purchases of electronics on ebay. At least one of them said he would take it back if there was a problem. They both have perfect feedback but not many sales. I would think it's pretty much a toss up, whether to buy something that expensive on ebay. Is this a lot cheaper than the same camera from a super store type thing.

ya its a lot cheaper. My brother bought a pretty nice guitar of ebay and has been very pleased with it, but i have also had friends that werent completely pleased. So its kind of a toss up for me. These to me look fine, and with my budget would be awesome. So im thinking about it pretty hard.

I am expecting that as well. So, I am not going to bid if i do at all till the last few hours. See how they are then. I have them bookmarked and everything so i'm good to go. But you dont see anything on there that i should really be scared of i take it?

I've had good and bad luck there, but all in all, mostly good. Be sure to watch the shopping costs. Typically if there is an original box and all of the paperwork, etc. then it's an owner selling and you have a better chance of getting one that's well cared for.

I buy and sell alot on ebay and have no problems.
Do a search for ebay scams on google and ebay and read some info. They usually have some great info to keep you informed.
Pay attention to the paypal guarantee. If the seller is verified they will have 2,000 usd protection and if not 200 usd.the first one you have listed is only 200 usd so try not to spend too much and you should be ok.

oh yeah i forgot to tell you.
Wait until the last 10 seconds to send your bid through.make sure your signed in and all that and if you have IE7 open up a couple of tabs.one to watch the item and the other ready to bid.enter your bid and then wait to send it through on the confirmation screen until the last 10 seconds.
just keep refreshing the watched page and you'll see all the snipers in the last 30 seconds.

Notice that the one that has already been sold went for $375, but only one person bid for it!
The other camera with an extra lense, with more than 2 days left, has 8 people already starting to bid. The fact that it currently says $40 means nothing.
You have to decide if it´s worth it to wait until the last 1 minute, then fire in your maximum bid...say $401.57 and cross your fingers. (I wouldn´t pay more!)

edit: Firemedic is spot on...if your internet connection is fast enough...go for it!

10 seconds is waaaay toooo long to to give a sniper time to win the item back. I have a digital timer (cooking timer) that I sync up with the time remaining for the item. at 20 seconds refresh the item on your screen to see what the price is at. If it's still in your range, place your bid and wait for the confirm screen to come up. Confirm your bid with 1 or 2 secs left, but make sure you put in your max bid as you will have no time to re-bid. If you don't win the item, your max bid was exceeded - better off. I've seen too many people start bidding in the last 60 seconds and end up spending much more than they intended because they were caught up in a bidding battle. The only time I ever lose bids is because the item went higher than I was willing to pay - which isn't too often.

A buddy of mine has a program synchronised to eBay time.
He tells it his max bid and this will automatically enter the bid in the last second...he usually wins...and the system then notifies his mobile phone that he won or lost.

(I´m sorry I don´t know what the program´s name is)
