Finally broke down and got a Linhof-Toyo adapter board.

Now I can easily mount all my LF lenses I have on Linhof boards for my Shen-Hao to my Toyo rail camera.

Dunno. Haven't have much time to shoot LF film lately.

Looks a nice bit of kit, what does it do.....?

But the 'bit of kit' is the part that allows me to mount the four lenses I have mounted on Linhof lens boards on my Toyo camera that uses 158mm² boards.

Large format lenses typically mount to just a 'board', a flat piece of metal or wood. They're threaded on the back and are held on with a matching threaded ring.

But unlike 35mm and DSLR cameras, there's no huge variety in lens board propriety. There's just a few 'typical' lens board sizes. So LF lenses can be easily, readily and inexpensively changed between a wide variety of LF camera manufacturers (Sinar, Zone VI,Canham, Linhof, Toyo, Cambo, Horseman, Wista, Shen Hao, Wisner et al).

But to keep from having to dismount a lens from one size board to another, you can get these adapter board that allow the use of a smaller lens board on a camera that utilizes a larger board.
