El Mirage dry lake bed...

I've always wanted my own picture of a dry lake bed, so I took a drive out to El Mirage in So Cal. This is where Terminator 2, Herbie Fully Loaded, Knight Rider TV show, and numerous music videos and magazine covers were all filmed and photographed.

Yes it's boring but it was a technical learning experience to me. I wanted to practice using several metering modes in the D7000, test out Nikon active D-lighting, and wanted to learn how the behaves in a wide dynamic range situation.

Why would you NOT look for hairy dudes on Google? Doesn't google mean "hairy dude"? Isn't that why google was started in the first place? I thought it was a college project for Eric to find hairy dudes on the internet easier...doesn't anyone take the time to learn a little internet history? Sheesh!

I see a couple nice photos in this thread...but I'm not sure that what I'm looking at is not simply a mirage...

I wouldn't say boring. I like the shot. The specking (not sure what the real term should be) around the sun could 'cleaner' if I had to pic something.
