emoticons in a reply post?

I'm feeling particualry stupid today ... if I was smarter I would be frustrated.
When I start a thread I can add an emoticon cause there is a gallery on the right of the screen
:meh: :hug:: :er: :greenpbl: etc!!!
BUT how do add them when I leave a comment in someone else's thread ... or even a reply to a comment left in a thread I started ?

I'll bet there is a simple solution but simple is just a little beyond my present level of competence :blushing:

If anyone can help me out that would be :mrgreen: :thumbup: :hug::

Never mind ... sometimes my stupidity even exceeds my imagination. My one remaining neurone figured it out (isn't trial and error great)
