Had to play with #2... but not sure if it works... lol!

Actually, I like #2 the best as well, my idea was simply to crop away the concrete and the point where you can see the pole, and just leave the shadow. Not sure if that's better or worse than Charlie's idea, but along the same lines.
 
Just to keep this shot in line with other abstract close ups..

The last 2 are my favorite. The focus is on point and the colors pop very well
 
If I had to pick one it would be no4, like the contrast of the vivid colours against the sky
 
Love #5, its a little hard to focus on one point, but there's some emotion in it that is captivating

1 & 2 I like the best. I had originally done these in monochrome, but ended up preferring the color versions.

I was working on composition with lines, angles, and intersections.
In #2, the faint white line running to the top of the pole is part of the composition which gets lost in the edit.
I do see what you were going for though.

I agree with Charlie and John. The idea of just the shadow is really cool.
