ENF-E1 PRO AF Adapter any users

I have new Sony A7ii and my Nikon Nikoor lenses so looking at all adapter options.

Seems the new price is $350 range but on Ebay there are a ton of these for much lower. Given many are shipped from China or Hong Kong and would take a month but couple are US bases.

They advertise V6 firmware so can someone tell me is this current and if not how hard is it to upgrade firmware?

Ideally I would like to just try one but not sure that is possible locally.

Or if anyone has advice for me as far as leaning toward using an adapter!
