Hi,
New to this forum, but it looks very lively.
I do a lot of fine art scanning with my Epson 10000xl, stiching together individual scans with panorama software. It works phenomenally well, but I am considering branching out and scanning some wall frescoes at a local Church.
Has anyone used the Epson 10000xl to scan vertically (i.e. upright), against a flat wall or otherwise? There are two large bolt holes on the back of a scanner that I can only imagine are for a fixture of some kind, but I've not been able to find out any info online about using the scanner in this way.
I have a background in engineering, so I think I could design something myself that would work pretty well, but I don't know if there are any interior components (or the glass!) that would break or fall out if scanning in an upright position.
If anyone has any experience in this area, please let me know.
