the police wouldn't care, to be honest. sure they'd file a full report, but they wouldn't look into shat.

I know of only one person I would ever trust with anything of mine, ever!!!
Anyone else can look through my gear but, not out of my immediate presence. That includes most of my family. I do have an aunt I would allow to use my gear though. But then she let me shoot with her Hassleblads so, it goes with out saying. Plus she and, my grandfather are the one who gave me the photobug when I was a child. Now that I think of it can that be considered abuse?
Glad you got your stuff back. BTW Now you have learned a valuable lesson in life and, not lost anything. How lucky for you.
