every one droping there nikon for 30d

i have noticed that every one if droping there nikon selling it and getting a 30d is it

a. that much better than the d200

b. is it (30d) that great

I own a Canon. But from everything that I've read...you would be dumb to not spend the extra $300 on the D200. Unless you already have a ton of Canon lenses! If I were to replace my Canon with another Canon, it would probably be the 5D. But the type of money we're talking, I would buy the D200 before the 30D.
