Hey gang,

As most of you know, I just got the D70s, and as I play with it more and more, I notice things that I have questions on.

When I was still using my Canon PowerShot, I could only get the name of the camera, focal lenght, appreture, shutter speed, flash, and date/time. I couldn't ever get the ISO speed or the white balance, or several other data that EXIF is supposed to give. I just assumed that this was because the camera didn't have the capability to record this data.

I notice that the D70s doesn't either. The manual says that it is EXIF 2.21 compliant, so what's gives? Do I need to set something in the menus?

Oh, I'm downloading to a Mac (iPhoto) if that makes a difference.

Thanks.

I'm guessing that it's the software you are using.

Nikon doesn't put the ISO value in the normal EXIF tag, it places it in a field inside of the proprietary Makernote field. As such, you will only see the value if you look at the file with an EXIF reader that understands the way that Nikon embeds the information in the file. :(

Also, not sure how out of date this is but this looks interesting...
