External Mic

A lot of us struggle with the video quality of our cameras. But, what's really frustrating is the built-in stereo/mono microphone. Personally, I have a fujifilm x100. The mic quality seems the same as any cell phone camera. We all know that some of the newer cameras, and older ones, have external mic inputs. But, is there any external mic that mounts to the hot shoe that has flash storage. Obviously, the audio would have to be added in afterwards. Anyone have any ideas?

You'd have to get an adapter because it has a tripod screw and not a coldshoe mount.
