I shot some portraits of Alina and below is one of the face portrait, which I spent some time in Photoshop and added some digital make up. How is it?

I'll normally prefer a rectangular or rounded soft box when shooting portraits in a studio. Did you use an umbrella?

I used a seven foot octagon softbox as the main light and beauty dish as fill and a softbox plus a flash as hair light :)

Hmm what is the distance between your main light and subject? Shooting 'light-eyes' subjects is tricky. That said I'll still prefer to use a round or rectangular soft box as main light. It can potentially help to reduce the unusual cast on the subject's eyes :)

I don't have a calibrated monitor but the skin looks a bit too red/pink for me.

John.

The octagon softbox is round and about 3-4 feet from the model. But I still do not get what problem do you think it has?

Hi john, yes , you are right. I tend to like a little red skin tone, not pale white, because I thought made the person look healthy. I guess it is too much?

If your critics can see a problem, then it is too much. Healthy skin should look healthy and normal.

I toned it down a bit:

I'm not sure what Vince means, but there are two catchlights and a pinlight in her eyes. That looks kind of "busy" to me.

Designer,

Thanks for editing. I see the skin tone of your edited image looks actually more healthy red to me, but in a good way. What did you change?
