Not the best ever panorama - but quite strange a fallen tree - I assume in the hurricane of 1987 - which is still growing with branches growing vertically

Natures way of hanging in there. Glad you took shots from both angles, the second one makes it look like the tree fell in between the clump of the others.

Thank you all - it was a weird thing to photograph. And @Dave NY is right it obviously fell quite luckily - of course any small trees it crushed would have rotted away ages ago.
